In 2007, Global Witness was commissioned to conduct a three month feasibility study [link to node 88] on the potential for independent forest monitoring in DR Congo, with the aim of evaluating the nature and extent of illegal logging and the effectiveness of the control system. This report summarises the study’s findings and recommendations.
