Civil Society Organisations working in the Natural Resource and Environment Sector in 2016 petitioned the then President of Ghana (John Dramani Mahama) to intervene in mining in the Tano Offin Forest Reserve in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
